Introducing our Outstanding Employees of the Year 2019
Each year Dynex employees are given the opportunity to nominate fellow colleagues for the Outstanding Employees of the Year award. The winners are rewarded with a trip to China, £1000 and attendance at our Annual Recognition Awards Luncheon. This year our congratulations go to:
Dr Muhammad Morshed

Dr Ephrem Malaela-Massamba
Senior Product Engineer within Bipolar Engineering Department
Principal Process Engineer within the IGBT Wafer Fab
Owen joined MEDL (Dynex previous name) as an Engineering Apprentice in 1982, completing a HNC whilst working in various departments. After a few years, Owen moved into Wafer Fab, manufacturing 4inch silicon and silicon on sapphire (SOS). Continuing to progress his career, Owen moved onto various electronic manufacturing businesses throughout early 2000’s. In 2008 Dynex were delighted when Owen returned as a Senior Process Engineer on the 6inch IGBT process line and has since progressed to Principal Process Engineer. Owen’s extensive skillset and knowledge brings a wealth of expertise to the Company and more specifically to the IGBT department.
Muhammad joined Dynex in October 2016 as a Principal Engineer within our Research and Development Centre working with high voltage IGBT module materials such as polymer, silicone gel, epoxy, adhesive glue and thermal interface material (TIM). Muhammad is a great asset to Dynex with his extensive industry experience, a PhD qualification in research on diamond like carbon (DLC) coating by plasma process from Dublin City University and a member of the Chartered Engineer (CEng MIEI) Institution of Engineers Ireland. To date he has published more than 40 peer reviewed journal and conference papers from his research work.
Ephrem joined Dynex in 2015 as a Bipolar Test Engineer. With previous experience within the semiconductor business in France and Manchester, Ephrem was able to put his technical and scientific knowledge on challenging high value projects into practice. In 2017, Ephrem successfully completed Dynex’ Talent Development Programme and a Developing Managerial Mindset course at the University of Lincoln. The programme and the course enabled Ephrem’s leadership and career progression within Dynex which led to his most current position of Senior Product Engineer. Ephrem demonstrates astounding commitment to his role at Dynex, making him a key engineer within the Bipolar department and the wider Company.
Thank you to our Oustanding Employees of the Year for their exceptional dedication to Dynex and once again, congratulations!
