We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified/experienced individual who can be a key member of the Engineering team and take a leading role in supporting the IGBT module assembly department. Having recognised expert knowledge of the processes and materials of IGBT module manufacture and their influence on electrical performance and reliability the successful candidate will use these skills to take a leading role in the maintenance and improvement of IGBT module manufacture, yield and reliability.

Dynex Semiconductor Limited manufactures a wide variety of high power semiconductor devices and assemblies which improve the reliability and control of electrical energy in applications such as power transmissions and distribution systems, marine and railway propulsion, renewable power generation schemes and industrial motor drives.

We currently have over 330 employees and are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified/experienced individual who can be a key member of the Engineering team and take a leading role in supporting the IGBT module assembly department.

Having recognised expert knowledge of the processes and materials of IGBT module manufacture and their influence on electrical performance and reliability the successful candidate will use these skills to take a leading role in the maintenance and improvement of IGBT module manufacture, yield and reliability. With a strong emphasis on evidence based problem solving methodology the applicant will use experimental design, statistical analysis and a high standard of technical reporting in order to demonstrate problem solving to a high quality and confidence. The applicant will be able to communicate effectively both with the engineering community and managers. The applicant should be minimum HND qualified in an electronics discipline or equivalent. Working within strict Health and Safety procedures you will work with an experienced team and will be encouraged to recommend improvements to working practices and methods to strive towards continuous improvement.

 

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an engineering/maintenance environment

Experience working with high voltage and high energy systems

Sound engineering knowledge backed up by practical skills

HND in electronics (or related subject)

2 years’ experience in an electronics assembly environment

Strong background in materials science or power electronics

Commitment to continuous improvement and recognised quality standards

Self-motivated, able to identify and respond to the needs of the department

Ability to solve engineering problems and to make appropriate recommendations for solutions and improvements

Able to write technical reports to a high standard

An engineering enthusiast with good experimental design and analysis skills

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

JMP user desirable

 

Key Tasks

Address process control and production non-conformance

Identify sources of process variation and defectivity  and develop means of reduction

Develop new processes  and materials to increase yield and improve reliability

Assist the R&D team to introduce manufacturable products

Play a key role in improving the overall equipment effectiveness

Develop improved production methods

Improvement of product consistency

Support the implementation of continuous improvement methodology
