We are currently seeking to appoint a Manufacturing Operator to work within our Bipolar Fab Production department. The main tasks and responsibilities will be operating machinery and acid cleaning of wafers.  The successful applicants will also be required to support the activities of the Manufacturing Group Leader and Section Leaders to ensure that work is completed to a high accuracy at all times to help keep waste to a minimum. Due to the nature of these activities, this role will require the use of full clean room clothing which includes a head to toe clean room suit, safety glasses and a face mask to protect the products we work with. The successful applicant will also be required to support the activities of the Manufacturing Group and Section Leaders to ensure that work is completed to a high level of accuracy. Full training for this role is provided and you do not require any previous experience although it is desirable.

Job Description

Job Title:                     Manufacturing Operator – Bipolar Fab Production

Department:               Bipolar Fab Production 

Location:                     Lincoln

Hours of work:           37 hours a week

Contract:                     Permanent

Salary:                         £16,000 (plus a 15% shift premium and £240 a year gowning allowance)

Other Information:     Alternating shifts consisting of: 6:00am to 2:00pm Monday to Thursday  and 6:00am to 1.30pm on a Friday and 2:00pm to 10:00pm Monday to Thursday and 1:30pm to                                     9:00pm on a Friday with a 30 minute unpaid break. 

The Role

The purpose of the role is to support operational activities within the Bipolar Wafer Fabrication area by ensuring that production is completed and maintained to a high standard.  The main tasks and responsibilities will be operating machinery and acid cleaning of wafers.  The successful applicants will also be required to support the activities of the Manufacturing Group Leader and Section Leaders to ensure that work is completed to a high accuracy at all times to help keep waste to a minimum.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have a positive can do attitude and have the ability to work to defined Policy’s and guidelines. You will be able to work as part of a team and be able to integrate into the team spirit quickly. You will be customer focused and confident in a fast-paced working environment. You will also be flexible to meet production demands.  Due to the nature of the activities, this role will require the use of appropriate clean room clothing to minimise particle levels within the production area. Full training will be given to the successful applicant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and interpret both Operator / Engineering instructions
  • Conducting aluminium evaporation processes.
  • Working with Chemicals 
  • Ensuring that all Operator instructions are accurately followed
  • Identify new ways of working and make recommendations for potential improvements
  • Operate various types of equipment including evaporators and furnaces.
  • Cleaning and etching wafers using acids
  • Conducting some Inspection Processes
