We are currently looking to appoint a suitably qualified/experienced IT Manager who will partner with our business leaders to develop and execute an Information Technology (IT) strategy in support of our business goals. Reporting to the Finance Director the IT Manager is responsible for providing the leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives that supports business development, improves cost effectiveness and continuously improves operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader and will be able to provide evidence of transformation change in a previous position.

Dynex Semiconductor Limited manufactures a wide variety of high power semiconductor devices and assemblies which improve the reliability and control of electrical energy in applications such as power transmissions and distribution systems, marine and railway propulsion, renewable power generation schemes and industrial motor drives.

We currently have over 360 employees and are in a period of significant growth which is planned to continue. We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified/experienced IT Manager who will partner with our business leaders to develop and execute an Information Technology (IT) strategy in support of our business goals.

Reporting to the Finance Director the IT Manager is responsible for providing the leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives that supports business development, improves cost effectiveness and continuously improves operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader and will be able to provide evidence of transformation change in a previous position.

Suitable candidates will have the following aptitude/abilities:

 

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing an IT function and team

Certificate/Diploma in Management or equivalent

Degree in Computer Science and /or an IT related subject or equivalent

Project management qualification is desirable

Experience of working in partnership with the business to scope requirements and develop fit for purpose technical solutions

Experience of managing projects from conception to completion

Solid technical background with a good understanding and hands on experience in the administration, management of IT systems, networks, communications, hardware and software applications

A strong understanding of emerging technologies

Experience of strategy design and ownership

 

Key Tasks

Create, develop and implement a robust IT strategy that positively supports the achievement of the business plan

Evaluate the operations of IT systems and electronic data processing

To ensure that IT equipment and systems company-wide meets business needs

To manage the IT department ensuring that all activities positively contribute and support operational business activities

To create and develop robust IT policies; ensuring that they are regularly reviewed and awareness of said policies/procedures are provided to all employees.  To manage the effectiveness of IT policies and enforcement where required

Manage IT department team members (team of 6) to design, develop, implement, operate and administer computer software, networks and information systems

To create, develop and maintain robust IT security devices to protect the Company’s information and manage security procedures.

To lead in project work as may be directed by the line manager and or senior management team, ensuring that regular progress reports are provided in a timely manner.  Where project factors have a negative impact on progress, to identify issues immediately and provide recommendations for action and consideration.  To manage financial elements of a project ensuring that budgets are maintained

To ensure the IT servers are regularly backed up to safely maintain vital Company information

To develop and maintain the Company’s intranet and external website ensuring that information is current and up to date, where required to remove/add or amend information as guided by the senior management team.

To manage and oversee all existing onsite IT systems ensuring that they meet the needs of all internal customers and where required, to take steps to guide and support users.
