IGBT Product Test and Ratings Engineer
We are seeking to appoint a IGBT Product Test and Ratings Engineer within our Research and Development Centre. The successful candidate will work primarily on the characterisation of high power IGBT devices from 650V up to 6.5kV. This will involve the submission of data sheets, application notes and the supporting documentation for transfer to production. Previous experience of testing high power electronic components and circuits is desired. Some working knowledge of the underlying semiconductor physics would also be advantageous. A degree in electrical/electronic engineering, Physics or similar discipline is desirable but may be relaxed for relevant industrial experience.
Dynex Semiconductor Limited manufactures a wide variety of high power semiconductor devices and assemblies which improve the reliability and control of electrical energy in applications such as power transmissions and distribution systems, marine and railway propulsion, renewable power generation schemes and industrial motor drives.
We currently have over 330 employees and are seeking to appoint an IGBT Product Test and Ratings Engineer within our Research and Development Centre. The main tasks and responsibilities will be to perform and report on standard electrical testing of IGBT products, perform datasheet generation of IGBT based products and assist with customer IGBT technical queries. You will also be working with and contributing towards key projects that may involve teams of specialists and non-specialst within the R&D Centre of Lincoln and Zhuzhou.
To be successful in this role you will have at least 2 years of relevent industrial experience in test, you must be familar and comfortable with high voltage testing on power semiconductors and have experience with Microsoft software packages. You will be an effective communicator with specialists and non-specialist colleagues, ability to work well independently and as part of a wider team and hold good time management skills.
Suitable candidates will have the following aptitude/abilities:
Bachelors degree in one of the following; physics, power electronics, electrical and electronic engineering.
At least 2 years relevent industrial experience in test
Experience of Microsoft software packages
Familar and comfortable with high voltage testing on power semiconductors
Familiarity with MOS power semiconductors - preferably silicon IGBT
Awareness of performance limitations of MOS power semiconductors
