We are looking for a HR Advisor to join our Human Resources team. The HR Advisor will operate in a generalist capacity working closely with the site operational team and managers to provide HR support for the various departments across the business. This is a diverse operational role managing a high volume, challenging and varied workload and ideal for someone with a generalist background who has managed various projects.

The Role

The HR Advisor will operate in a generalist capacity working closely with the site operational team and managers to provide HR support for the various departments across the business. About you

As the HR Advisor you will have a solid HR generalist background of approximately 3 years in a similar role (ideally within manufacturing) and will have extensive up to date employment law knowledge. We are looking for a qualified/experienced individual who is able to fit in and quickly adapt to the environment and tasks at hand to positively contribute towards the proficiency and effectiveness of our HR Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising, guiding and supporting line managers on ER issues ensuring compliance at all times
  • Reviewing, creating and implementing robust HR policies along with line manager toolkits
  • Training and supporting line managers on good people management practices
  • Superuser of our Mitrefinch T&A and HR system to ensure efficiency and up to date information
  • Interpreting and researching employment law, updating the management teams on new employment legislation and HR best practice to ensure advice and guidance is both accurate and up to date
  • Ensuring appropriate policies and procedures and legal requirements are adhered to (regarding both UK and overseas employees) with clear audit trails
  • Liaising and assisting managers with recruitment procedures, managing the full recruitment cycle from adverts to offer
  • Supporting and ensuring managers follow probationary, appraisal, return to work policies in line with company procedures
  • Assisting with project work as determined by the HR Director
  • Communicating HR policies to relevant employees, assisting with any queries and ensuring all relevant paperwork is produced
  • Responding to MI requests and provide statistical information / HR metrics via report writing as required
  • Supporting managers in all matters relating to HR including terms and conditions, absence and flexible working requests
  • Offering advice, arranging and supporting disciplinary and grievance hearings within policy, producing own correspondence
  • Managing sickness absence across business units, ensuring referrals to Occupational Health when necessary and holding welfare and capability meetings with employees in accordance with company policies
  • Management of new starter Right to Work documentation including Tier 2 Visa process via the SMS system
  • Coordination of current and new Dynex Apprentices including training programmes, recruitment and liaison with the relevant training provider
  • Providing general administration and efficient support service as required
     

Core Skills

  • Part/full CIPD qualified
  • Solid HR generalist background (approximately 3 years’ experience in similar role)
  • Experience of managing complex ER cases
  • Experience of creating and setting HR policies/procedures
  • Must be an operational HR professional with experience of working in manufacturing 
  • Up-to-date employment law knowledge 
  • Strong communicator who can work closely with operations and understands how HR can add value to a business 
  • High attention to detail
  • Credible person who can mentor and engage with the management team and form effective working relationships quickly
  • Strong communicator and someone who is articulate, able to converse and engage across all levels within the workforce
  • Proficient user of MS Office and HR systems
