Power SiC Chip Engineers (Design and Process)

Hours of Work: 35.5 - Office Days: 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am – 2.00pm on a Friday. This role also benefits from Flex Time and a hybrid of office / home working, after successful probationary.

It is an exciting time to be joining Dynex as we embark on a number exciting projects, which you can be part of. We are looking for a number of power SiC chip Engineers covering a range of aspects including device design and process.

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

Keen to find a role that offers a challenge and an opportunity to develop future power SiC chips for our growing customer base? The roles will include not limited to:

SiC Chip Design Engineer

  • Defining design and process platform for SiC based power semiconductor devices to meet customer requirement in a manufacturable and cost-effective way
  • Performing TCAD process and device simulations, and layout design
  • Creating and maintaining design rules and generation rules when required using controlled procedures.
  • Being responsible for the electrical characterisation data analysis, part of manually testing might be involved
  • Providing improvements to existing products and participating in planning new product introductions.
  • Coaching junior team member(s) in device design and process development
  • Publishing papers in international peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings and generating IP to protect new inventions

SiC Chip Process Engineer

  • SiC Power MOSFET process flow creation, maintenance, and process technology integration
  • Individual key process development (eg. Gate oxide, implant activation, RTA etc.) with process engineers
  • Being responsible for the electrical testing and characterization, and data analysis, as well as datasheet generation
  • Providing improvements to existing products and participating in planning new product introductions.
  • Create and maintain process control plan and FMEA documentation
  • Device failure analysis and reverse engineering studies
  • Coaching junior team member(s) in process development and device testing
  • Publishing papers in international peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings and generating IP to protect new inventions

 

ABOUT YOU

As a team, we work really closely together, we are looking for a number of SiC chip Engineers who have experience working with SiC chips within a research and development capacity. We will support and develop the team, therefore these roles would suit Engineers who are keen to take on a new challenge and project. To be considered for one of the roles you require:

SiC Chip Design Engineer

  • PhD in Microelectronics or semiconductor related preferred and/ or equivalent relevant
  • 3-5 years of experience in SiC power MOSFET design and/or fabrication.
  • Hand-on experience in SiC MOSFET design and technology development
  • Proficiency in TCAD modelling and simulation (Synopsys simulator preferred).
  • Understanding of SiC material and strong knowledge in power MOSFET device physics, fabrication and characterization principles.
  • Knowledge and experience in design for reliability and robustness with particular emphasis on RBSOA and SCSOA.
  • Ability of addressing design and engineering issues and to provide proper solutions

SiC Chip Process Engineer

  • PhD in Microelectronics or semiconductor related preferred and/or equivalent relevant.
  • 3-5 years of experience in SiC power MOSFET fabrication
  • Hand-on experience in SiC MOSFET process engineering and process integration in a wafer fab environment
  • Deep understanding of overall process flow of given device
  • Understanding of parametric testing structures and layout principles
  • Understanding of SiC material and individual unit processes
  • Strong knowledge in power MOSFET device physics, fabrication and characterization principles.
